QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Our most common queries are answered below but please feel free to contact us should you have any more at: Emma.Wickens@hotmail.co.uk

How much notice do I need to give to make a booking?

We would advise booking your wedding cake at least 3 months in advance & 3 weeks in advance for celebration cakes. However we can work on shorter timescales occasionally dependant on availability but please be aware we book up early during the busy wedding  season of May to October.

What is involved in a tasting consultation?

We invite you to an informal and friendly meeting to chat about your plans, sample some of our different flavour cakes & start the ball rolling in designing your dream wedding cake for your special day. Consultations are priced per couple at £15. This fee is refunded on making a booking.

What are your terms of payment?

We require a 25% non-refundable deposit for wedding cakes, to secure your date with a minimum of £100 deposit. And a 50% non-refundable deposit for celebration cakes. Your deposit will be taken off your final balance. Your balance would be due 6 weeks prior to your delivery/collection of your wedding cake and either on or before collection of your celebration cake. Both deposit and final balance can either be paid for via bank transfer, cash or cheque, (cheque would need to be cleared prior to collection/delivery of your cake).

What are your cancellation terms?

Please read our 'Terms & Conditions' in the bottom right of this page.

What if I would like to make some changes to my design?

Changes can be made up to 2 weeks prior to your wedding or 1 week prior to your collection of your celebration cake. Please be aware that some changes may affect the price of your cake, but these would be agreed beforehand.

Can I have fresh flowers added to the decoration of my cake?

Of course and they can look stunning on a cake. We cannot supply them but are happy to liaise with your florist. Please be aware that some flowers can be toxic and therefore cannot be added to your cake, but your florist will be able to advise you.

What is a 'false' tier?

Also known as a 'Dummy' tier. These are polystyrene cakes that are decorated in the same style as the rest of your cake and are there to add drama and height where extra cake is not needed.

What is a cutting cake?

A cutting cake is a standard cake iced in the same colour as your main cake and is stored in the venue's kitchen. The cutting cake is distributed by the venue at the same time as the main cake with no discernible difference in appearance.

Do you deliver?

Yes we offer delivery and set up for wedding cakes at your venue. Delivery is charged at £25 for up to 20 miles of Lindfield, West Sussex. For venues further afield, a price can be given on application. Celebration cakes are for collection only from our studio in Sussex.

Can I collect my cake?

Wedding cakes can be collected from our studio in Sussex and will be securely boxed up. Please be aware that for all cake collections, WickyWooWoo Cakes can not be held liable for any damage made once it has left our kitchen.

Can I have different flavours of cake per tier?

Yes, most definitely & we would encourage you to have at least 2 different flavours. We would recommend keeping your fruit tiers to the bottom of the cake.
